The Commonwealth Research Center (CRC), a joint program
of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and the Harvard
Medical School Department of Psychiatry, is dedicated to conducting
research in people who have a major mental illness. Research within
the CRC aspires to explore the etiology of mental illness and to
find more effective treatments. The current focus of CRC research
is in the area of schizophrenia, particularly in the area of co-morbid
substance abuse and first episode psychosis.
